On the second Day of the Great Kindness, our PLUS Students wrote positive sticky notes that were placed on every desk for students and staff to find when they arrived at school on Tuesday. In order to bring the 4th Grade Social Studies Curriculum about the California Mission to life, our 4th Grade Scholars went to the San Luis Rey Mission in Oceanside. Cottonwood's PTO Duct Tape the Principal Fundraiser was a lot of fun. Students purchased strips of Duct Tape to help secure our principal, Mr. Trudel to the ball wall. Check your sofa cushions and cup holders for loose change and dollar bills and bring them on Monday, to help us secure Mr. Trudel to the ball with duct tape during our PTO's Duct Tape the Principal Fundraiser. Cottonwood's Middle School Basketball Teams are hosting two home games next week. Our Cougars will face off against the DP Christian Lions on Monday, and St. Hyacinth on Wednesday. Seating is limited, so feel free to bring your own chair. Our PTO Snack Cart will be on site selling snacks at the game. The Girls will play at 3:15 p.m. and the Boys will play at 4:15. We are looking forward to conferencing with our elementary parents next week during Elementary Parent Conference Week. If you do not yet have a conference time, please reach out to your child's teacher or the office and someone will assist you. In order to carve out the time to meet with our parents, our elementary students will be on a modified schedule all week. Cottonwood's 2nd Graders did a lesson on the Character Trait of the month, Perseverance. They worked in small groups to create the tallest towers that they could in 4 minutes. The learned how to overcome obstacles, stay focused on the goal on hand, work together and pivot when things don't go as planned. Great job Cougars! #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars
