Here is a quick look at the week ahead. Our basketball teams are playing St. Hyacinth on Wednesday, January 14th, at Cornerstone in Hemet. Come cheer on our Cougars if you can! Families, it is time to mark your calendars for our Elementary Parent Teacher Conferences. Our elementary students will have a modified schedule all week to allow for our parents and teachers to meet. Parents, if you have not yet scheduled your conference time, please reach out to your child's teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all of the growth your children have made so far this year. See you there! January 26th is the 100th Day of School and our Scholars will be celebrating by doing a variety of 100 Day Activities and dressing up as their 100 year old selves. Time to don your gray wigs and dust off your walkers for a fantastic day! #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars

On Monday, January 26th, Cottonwood's PTO will be hosting the Duct Tape the Principal fundraiser. Students, staff and community members can purchase strips of Duct Tape for $1.00 each or six strips for $5.00 that will be used to secure our principal Mr. Trudel to the ball wall. Strips of Duct will go on sale in the office starting on Monday, January 12th until the day of the event, or strips can be purchased the day of the event. You won't want to miss out on this opportunity! The event will take place during the morning recesses. #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars

At Cottonwood PTO's Family Paint Night on Friday, January 9th, there will be two baskets being raffled off. Tickets are $5.00 each. You do not need to be present to win. Cottonwood's PTO will be hosting a Family Painting Night on Friday, January 9th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Mrs. Kelly will be guiding the winter snowman painting. All supplies will be on site. This will be a fun evening for the entire family! It will be $10.00 for one painter, $15.00 for two painters, and $30.00 for four painters. Cottonwood Community, Cottonwood's PTO will be hosting a Rummage Sale on Saturday, January 24th, in the Cottonwood parking lot. If you have been rotating toys, cleaning out cupboards, or organizing during the holiday break and have accumulated items to give away we can help! Donations will be accepted in Cottonwood's Office starting on Tuesday, January 6th. If you have winter jackets, or sweaters that your children have outgrown, we will be happy to help them find new homes. #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars

All of their hard work and preparations paid off as our PLUS Leaders set up and hosted the annual middle school Reindeer Games. The middle school students were divided into 8 teams to play 9 different games. After each game the winning team went to the prize table to select a reward for their victory. A great time was had by all! Great job PLUS Leaders for making our Cougars' spirits a little brighter. #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars
