Calling all Cottonwood 8th Graders...the lawn in front of the school currently has all of your 8th Grade Promotion Yard Signs. You and your family are welcome to come by and take pictures and look at all of the signs until 3 p.m. today (Tuesday). They will be out again from 10-11 tomorrow (Wednesday. Yard Signs can be taken home between 11-12 (Wednesday). Awards and Promotion Certificates will also be distributed between 11-12 tomorrow (Wednesday). See you there!

Are you running out of good reading material at home? Looking for something new to read? If so, you are in luck! Follett Publishing has released access to more than 1,000 eBooks for students to read and interact with while they are learning from home.

During these challenging times Cottonwood Families it is important to know what resources are available in our community and in the surrounding areas. Feel free to review these resources to see if you or someone you know could benefit from anything listed.

Cottonwood Families, you are missed more than you could ever imagine! A Weekly Counseling Bulletin will be posted to share some ideas for social emotional wellness and to check in. Each edition will feature read alouds, an activity and links that you can explore for more information. Stay Safe and Be Well Cougars and Cubs!

To kick off your spring break Cottonwood, some of the staff put together this message for you. Know that we wish you all well and that you are constantly in our hearts and minds. Be safe!

Cottonwood Families, in response to COVID-19, Renaissance Learning has come up with a global website from which students may login and take AR Quizzes at home. The global AR link is below. To use AR at home, your child can use the following devices: Windows computers, Macbooks, iPads, Android tablets, Chromebooks and Kindle Fire HD. This is an excellent way for our students to keep up with their reading and earning AR Points. This online site will remain open until midnight June 30, 2020. If you have any questions regarding AR, please email your child's teacher for guidance.

Attention Cottonwood Families. Two free meals will be issued to families during the school closure. Both meals will be dispensed at the same time. Meals are available between 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at all Hemet Unified Schools except the Western Center. You can pick up food at whichever school is closest to your home despite where your child attends. Meals will be available on a walk-up or drive-thru basis for all children 18 and under. Children must be present to receive the meals. No qualification is necessary.

Read Across America Week will be celebrated at Cottonwood from March 2nd - March 6th. Special spirit days, Family Reading Night, and a Guest Reader Day will be some of the many activities that will take place. Here is a copy of the spirit days for the week so that you have time to plan accordingly!

Read Across America Week will spotlight Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book tomorrow, March 5th! Everyone is invited to wear school appropriate pajamas to join in the fun. Please note that shoes are required, slippers may not be worn for safety reasons.

A Cottonwood Classic is coming soon to a cafeteria near you! It's time for Family Reading Night. Mark your calendars now for this don't miss event on March 5th. Come in your jammies and bring a blanket to sit on, you won't be disappointed!
